Nippon Kodo Kayuragi Sandalwood – 40 Japanese Incense Sticks

Kayuragi Sandalwood by Nippon Kodo is a Japanese incense with a gentle, woody sandalwood note. The soft character of this classic aromatic wood makes Sandalwood one of the more traditional varieties within the diverse Kayuragi series.

The 40 Japanese incense sticks are made without bamboo cores and presented together with a small ceramic holder in a paulownia wood box. The smooth surface and expressive colours of the Kayuragi packaging are inspired by the fabrics of traditional Japanese kimonos.

Gentle, woody sandalwood fragrance

Kayuragi Sandalwood is characterised by a soft and pleasantly woody sandalwood note. Within the Kayuragi series, this variety belongs to the classic woody fragrance profiles and therefore offers a different character from the floral and fruity compositions in the range.

Sandalwood refers to the documented fragrance profile of this incense. The precise aromatic composition is not disclosed. The fragrance profile therefore does not establish the actual use of a particular sandalwood species or a specific botanical origin.

Kayuragi – fragrance and gently drifting smoke

The name Kayuragi combines ka, meaning fragrance, with yuragi, the slow, undulating movement of drifting smoke. The concept of the series draws attention both to the fragrance and to the gentle movements of the rising incense smoke.

Each incense stick burns for approximately 25 minutes. The lightweight paulownia wood box protects the sticks from moisture and combines practical storage with the Japanese textile-inspired design of the Kayuragi series.
