This traditional incense is produced on Mount Athos in Greece. It is made from high-quality frankincense resin from Boswellia papyrifera from Ethiopia, refined with the characteristic fragrance of Clove. The spicy aromatic composition gives this classic Orthodox incense a warm and expressive fragrance.

Mount Athos is an autonomous monastic republic in northern Greece and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1988. The peninsula is home to around twenty Orthodox monasteries belonging to different traditions. Some of them continue to preserve the traditional craft of incense making according to recipes passed down within the monastic communities.

For centuries, incense has been an integral part of the Orthodox liturgy, accompanying church services, prayers and religious celebrations.
